FAQ

What are the key safety guidelines for operating glass tempering furnaces?

Source: LandGlass  Attention: 5  Published: 2024-12-18

LandGlass receives inquiries about proper usage and precautions when operating glass tempering furnaces. To ensure safe and efficient operation, we have summarized the key points below for your reference:

Authorized Operation Only

Ensure that only trained professionals operate the glass tempering furnace control system. Unauthorized personnel must not adjust parameters to avoid operational errors and equipment damage.

Glass Size Compliance

Before processing, verify that the glass dimensions conform to the furnace's capacity. Glass that is too large or too small can damage the equipment and impact performance.

Routine Inspections During Operation

Continuously monitor the performance of all furnace components while the system is running to promptly identify any irregularities.

Handling Power Outages

In case of a sudden power outage, manually remove the glass from the furnace and ensure the ceramic rollers continue to rotate to prevent damage.

Professional Adjustment of Glass Curvature

For glass curvature adjustments, use the control system and rely on qualified operators to minimize errors and prevent potential injuries.

Safe Handling of the Upper Chiller

When raising the upper chiller, proceed cautiously to prevent chain breakage. If work is required beneath the chiller, insert safety pins securely into the designated slots before entering to ensure worker safety.

Maintenance and Cleaning Precautions

Stop the furnace completely before performing any maintenance, such as adjusting chains, or gears, or clearing debris. Never handle moving components.

Roller Cleaning

When raising the furnace body to clean ceramic rollers, ensure that safety pins are fully secured and proper safety measures are implemented before entering the furnace chamber.

Mechanical Fault Handling

If a mechanical fault occurs, stop the furnace immediately for inspection and repair. If internal solutions are ineffective, contact a qualified maintenance technician for further assistance.
